About Rob


Rob Leone, MPPCambridge-North Dumfries – Ontario PC

Rob ran to represent his riding as a member of the Ontario PC Caucus alongside Leader Tim Hudak to help make life better for kids and their parents. As the MPP for Cambridge, he continues to work hard to provide relief for family budgets and reduce red tape to help businesses create jobs. Shortly after being elected, Rob was named Critic for Training, Colleges and Universities. In this role, he will be responsible for holding the government accountable and advising Tim Hudak on how to link our education system with the needs of an innovative knowledge-based economy.

Rob received a PhD in Comparative Public Policy from McMaster University. He also obtained a MA in public policy and administration from the University of Guelph and a BA (Hons.) from McMaster.

Rob was most recently an Assistant Professor of Leadership and Journalism at Wilfrid Laurier University – Brantford. For the past several years, he ran a small public policy consulting firm. Rob is also an author having recently published a book in public administration and written several academic articles in national and international publications.

Rob achieved much success in his educational and business pursuits. His proudest achievement, however, is being a husband to his wife, Kate, and a father of his two young boys. Rob was born and raised in Cambridge. He met his wife when they were in high school in the city. Rob went to Southwood Secondary School and Kate went to Preston High School. Kate also holds a PhD in psychology and is currently practicing as a clinical psychologist in the region.
